Maritime Welding School for Careers and Jobs in Welding

Overview

CDA's Maritime Welding Program is highly successful in training graduates for shipbuilding, ship repair and welding for the petroleum industry. CDA is a leader in education and vocational training for the maritime industry.

CDA brings its expertise and competency into training highly successful graduates for the shipbuilding and petroleum industry.

CDA was established in 1995, in Orange Beach, Alabama, in order to provide training and employable skills in the profession of commercial diving.
CDA was established by Captain Ray Black in answer to the need for trained commercial divers and the rare-existence of schools of this type.

CDA is the realization of his dream of sharing his 15 years of experience and training with others. Capt. Black was born in Alabama and has dedicated his life to the maritime industry for almost three decades. He has been involved with all facets of the maritime industry and commercial diving companies worldwide.

David Weisman, a maritime business owner, partnered with Capt. Black in 2001 and moved the Academy to Jacksonville, Florida. They have built CDA into the world’s premier maritime training institution. They created a master plan for maritime training education. CDA’s waterfront campus provides housing, meals, and state of the art training facilities.

The 16 week full-time welding program began in 2010. The program was developed in conjunction with major shipbuilders located here in Jacksonville and CDA’s industrial offshore contacts.
