CDA's Maritime Welding Program is highly successful in training graduates for welding careers, that include manufacturing and repair, as well as welding for the petroleum industry. CDA is a leader in education and vocational training for the maritime industry.
CDA brings its expertise and competency into training highly successful graduates for the welding industry and assorted welding careers.
CDA was established by Captain Ray Black in 1995, in Gulf Shores, Alabama, in order to provide training and employable skills in the profession of commercial diving.
CDA is the realization of his dream of sharing his 15 years of experience and training with others. Capt. Black was born in Alabama and has dedicated his life to the maritime industry for almost three decades.
David Weisman, a maritime business owner, partnered with Capt. Black in 2001 and moved CDA to Jacksonville, Florida. They built CDA into the world’s premier maritime training institution. They created a master plan for maritime training education. CDA’s waterfront campus provides housing, meals, and state of the art training facilities.
The 16 week full-time welding program began in 2010. The program was developed in conjunction with major shipbuilders located here in Jacksonville and CDA’s industrial offshore contacts.
