ALLEN G. GARBER, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

ALLEN G. GARBER, CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

Mr. Garber has been a recreational diver since 1974 and has dived in such places as the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, St. Martin and the Great Barrier Reef. He holds a BBA from the University of Massachusetts in Marketing with a minor in Civil Engineering. He also holds a USCG operator’s license and has sailed both offshore and competitively. Mr. Garber has been involved in the marine industry for the past nine years and most recently was the Brand Manager & National Sales Manager for a major manufacturer of offshore recreational boats. Mr. Garber is the Business Development Director and is responsible for all the Marketing, Recruiting and Promotion of CDA.

Marcillena lomax, campus director

Ms. Lomax, moved to Jacksonville from Northern Indiana June 2017.  She joined the CDA family July 2017.  She brings nearly 20 years of post-secondary administration experience and can’t imagine any other career.  Marcillena earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Wittenberg University (OH) in 1995 and her MBA from Indiana University’s Northwest Campus in 2002.
During down time, Marcillena enjoys pedicures, eating chocolate and spending time with her husband, children and granddaughter (not all at the same time).

Amber brings several years of bookkeeping experience to CDA. She is currently enrolled in accounting classes at a local college. Amber maintains all student accounts, ledgers and records. Her duties also comprise compliance with State and Federal accrediting agencies.

Adam Leese, PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Mr. Leese began his welding career 1994 as the lead welder for Carlisle Container in Green Cove Springs. In 1995 he joined the United States Marine Corps, and spent the next four years as an Artillery Fire Direction Control Operator, with his last year spent as a Safety Specialist with Base Safety. After being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, Mr. Leese worked for a jewelry manufacturer soldering precious metals before moving back to Florida. Upon his return to Florida, Mr. Leese began working as a welder in heavy equipment repair, and shipyard repair before attending the Applied Welding Technologies Program at First Coast Technical College. Mr. Leese began his teaching career in 2003 when he was hired by First Coast Technical College as the Assistant Instructor for the welding program, where he stayed until 2006. Mr. Leese spent the next five years working as a custom fabricator/welder for a local fabrication shop. He returned to teaching in early 2011 with FCTC before being offered a position at CDA Technical Institute. Mr. Leese is skilled in SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW. He has a BS/BM degree from the University of Phoenix, is a member of the American Welding Society (AWS) and is certified under AWS in 6G Pipe.

DREW DUFFY, ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE

DREW DUFFY, ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE

Mr. Duffy is a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving for nine years as a helicopter crew chief, flight instructor and trainer. Over the last 14 years, he has worked for post-secondary educational institutions & regional workforce development organizations. He has held assorted positions such as Business Office Manager, Corporate Trainer, Employment Specialist, Employer Liaison and Director of Graduate Services. He is a member of the American Welding Society and an active player in the Northeast Florida Section. Drew was recruited to CDA because of his welding industry and educational experience and is currently an Admissions Representative. His duties include recruiting and placement assistance.

SCOTT LEVINE, ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE

Mr. Levine is originally from Massachusetts. He moved to Florida to attend Jacksonville University, majoring in Marketing and minoring in Management. He received his Bachelor of Science degree and e has over six years of experience career education industry. He is currently an Admissions Representative with CDA Technical Institute. He works closely with students in the admissions process and is devoted to helping students achieve their career goals.

Kalefa Harvey, REGISTRAR

This is Kalefa Harvey’s life mantra. Born and raised in America’s Paradise; on the beautiful island of St. Thomas. She is a mother to a precious little boy (Khael) and is the second eldest of four siblings. Kalefa is a graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School, a proud Chicken Hawk!! She went on to further her education at the University of the Virgin Islands (GO BUCS!!), where she received her Bachelor of Art degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management. She plans to continue her education and receive her Master’s in Public Administration. She possesses a solid work ethic and a positive attitude that is committed to professionalism and exemplifies superior customer service skills. In her spare time she enjoy spending time with her family especially her son; while enjoying everything that nature has to offer. 

As the registrar at CDA Technical Institute she believes, “It’s all about the students; and is passionate about watching people in general succeed and build a future we can all be proud to be part of.”

Ms. Scott has worked in the Financial Aid field for 27 years, where she has assisted students in putting together a funding plan that makes school affordable.  She earned her MBA in Accounting from University of Phoenix in 2003.  When not helping students, Ms. Scott enjoys spending time with her Grandchildren.

Tayla Young provides financial administrative support to the CDA team. Tayla is a Florida native and has been working in financial aid for the last six years. She received her high school diploma from Sandalwood Senior High School in 2012 and is currently working on getting her BA in Business Administrations with a concentration in finance. Tayla developed a strong sense of devotion for assisting deserving students receive financial aid. In Tayla’s free time, she loves spending time with her family and eating all the great different foods the worlds has to offer.

Debra Narvett transitioned to Jacksonville, FL from Pittsburgh, PA in 2007. After earning an Associate degree from Duffs Business Institute in Pittsburgh she went on to serve six years in the United States Marine Corps as a Cryptologic Technician. She has worked in the post-secondary education arena for the past 11 years in an admission capacity and most recently financial aid. She is extremely passionate about watching students succeed, knowing that an education will change their lives. She believes that an education builds self-esteem, promotes positivity and will lead to success and careers they never dreamed of. She has two children and a grandson that she adores!

Robin is a results-oriented professional with  a diverse background with over 15 years of combined Customer Service, Administration and Financial Aid  experience.  She is dedicated to providing excellent verbal and written communication skills  and  assisting students in changing their lives.  As a military spouse, she salutes and thanks all armed forces and  their families for their service. In her spare time, she enjoys taking her boat out with her husband to fish the St Johns River and spending time with her children.

Mr. Fegeley was originally from Jacksonville, Florida, but grew up in New Jersey where his love for the water began. Throughout his grade school years he was a state swimmer and would work the weekends at a local marina. He moved back to Jacksonville to attend college where he majored in Business with a minor in Marketing. He brings 17 years of experience in Customer Service and Retail Management. For the last 10 years, he has been involved in recreational scuba. Currently he holds the title Director of Operations for The National Academy of Scuba Educators (NASE Worldwide). Richard strives to be a positive contributor to lives of the students at CDA. He believes in enhancing their experience during free time and after school through Scuba.

Sharlayne Brown Scott moved to Jacksonville from Charlotte, North Carolina; September of 2017. She joined the CDA family as Executive Assistant the same month. Her background is in Early Childhood Education Directorship and Home Healthcare Management. Being that she is a people-person, her favorite past-time is hanging out with her husband/family, traveling, event planning and helping others

GABRIELLE (NIKI) BOW, MEDICAL SUPERVISOR

Gabrielle (Niki)  Bow is originally from Mansfield, Tx. She completed a commercial diving program in 2014 at The Ocean Corporation in Houston, Tx. From there she came to CDA:TI to complete the Emergency Medical Technician, Diver Medic Technician, and Hyperbaric Technician courses. Gabrielle is an NCCER certified instructor, also authorized to train in Basic First Aid, CPR/AED, Wilderness First Aid, Blood-borne Pathogens, and Emergency Oxygen Administration. She is currently the medical supervisor on campus, overseeing sick call and student physicals.
